Hawkeye Distribution Inc. is a two-step wholesale distributor of building material and lumber products, serving retail lumber and building material dealers since 1947. Located in Sioux City, Iowa, Hawkeye prides itself on focusing 100 percent of our attention on serving dealers who are in the business of retailing our products, and we concentrate our efforts on offering products and services that fulfill their specific needs.

Hawkeye Distribution was founded in 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska by the owners of a group of retail lumberyards located in Iowa and Nebraska. In the early 1950's, R.C. Burke purchased the retail yards located in Sioux City along with the Hawkeye operation in Lincoln. The Lincoln location was subsequently sold and Hawkeye's operations were moved to Sioux City. At this point, Hawkeye was separated from the retail yards and began operation as an independent two-step distributor of building materials such as roofing, insulation, and steel roofing. In the early 1960's, Hawkeye purchased Thomas Mould Lumber from it's founder who was an early lumber broker and pioneer in the lumber industry. The move established Hawkeye as one of the few full line building material and lumber distributors in the region. In the 1990's, Hawkeye was sold to it's current management. These Managers continue to operate the company today, striving for superior customer service and continuing strength in the marketplace.
